KDevelop 5.0 Beta 2 Release

Three months after the first KDevelop 5.0 Beta release, I have the pleasure to announce our second beta release! We have worked hard on improving the stability and performance of our new KDevelop 5.0 based on Qt 5 and KDE Frameworks 5. We also continued to port many features from our old C++ language support to the new Clang-based C/C++ plugin, which is still an ongoing effort.

First Beta release of KDevelop 5.0.0 available

After more than a year of continuous work by our community, I'm very pleased to finally announce the first beta release of KDevelop 5.0.0. This release is made up of hundreds of commits, and marks a huge step forward:

  • We have ported our huge code base to Qt 5 and KDE frameworks 5 (KF5).
  • We replaced our legacy C++ parser and semantic analysis plugin with a much more powerful one that is based on Clang from the LLVM project.
  • We removed the hand-written CMake interpreter and now leverage meta data provided by upstream CMake itself.
  • We finally integrated semantic language support for QML and JavaScript, as well as a project manager for QMake.
  • Finally, we cleaned up many areas of our code base and improved the performance of some work flows significantly.

KDevelop 4.4.0 Beta 1 Released

After quite some downtime in the last summer weeks, the KDevelop team finally has a new release in the pipelines: KDevelop 4.4.0. Today we are happy to announce the availability of the first Beta release!

This release comes packed with bug fixes and improvements as usually. A special addition to the KDevelop experience is the new welcome page, which should make it easier for newcomers to use KDevelop and improve the workflow for existing users as well. Looking at existing plugins, we note that among others, the CMake, CVS and Patch Review plugins have seen quite some improvements.

Please test this release and give us feedback to ensure a smooth 4.4 release.

KDevelop 4.3.0 RC 1 Released

The KDevelop team is proud to announce the immediate availability of KDevelop 4.3.0 RC 1. This is probably the last testing version before the release of 4.3 final. This release candidate includes additional bug fixes and further improves the C++11 language support. Please try it out and give us feedback to ensure a smooth 4.3 release.
