Before looking for support, be sure to read the available documentation, whether that is the application handbook, developer documentation or other documentation.

E-Mail

There are two active mailing lists for KDevelop. On one hand, there is the User list, which is aimed at support and general discussion around KDevelop. Furthermore, there is the Development list. Here all important discussion around future development of KDevelop takes place. If you want to start contributing, you should at least follow the latter.

The mailing lists are open, you do not need to be subscribed to contact us. Do not forget to ask to be CC’d in answers in that case.

IRC Chat

Visit our IRC channel #kdevelop at Freenode (join via web chat here). You can often meet KDevelop developers there, and we are usually willing to help with user support requests as well as development questions. Alternatively, try #kde for user support and #kde-devel for development help.

If you're unfamiliar with IRC please read on general IRC guide lines (netiquette) here. In particular note: People may not have an answer to your question right away, so please be patient. In IRC terms, this might mean mean five minutes, but could also be 2-3 hours or more.

Reporting bugs

The KDE bug tracking system at http://bugs.kde.org is used for managing all bugs related to KDevelop. You can use the Help->Report Bug menu item found in most KDE applications to report bugs or wishes. It will start the bug report wizard and fill in some information for you. Be sure to include as much information as possible when reporting bugs, the better the report the better the chances we can fix the reported problem.

Commercial Support, Training, Press, etc.

For commercial support (for companies or individuals requesting specific bug fixes or custom feature development), training requests, press inquiries or specific questions for the KDevelop maintainers, but not for general support questions:
